    Hi,

After installing this version the Lightbox 2 plugin stopped working. That is, clicking an image doesn’t open it in a lightbox. When I disable your plugin it works again. Any ideas?

I don’t get what this does – what is recommendations?

Also, can you add the ability for me to create my own og meta tags for individual posts? That would be fantastic, and worth a donation :)

    Hi
I was asked to admin a WP site that has this plugin installed. It functions great, however, I would like to know –
Is it possible to select to hide the button on specific posts/pages?
    Appreciate your answer!

If I use your plugin will visitors who press like see my feeds on their wall?
Is there any way to move the likes that I got on the plugin that I am using to your plugin or will I have to start from scratch?
Will the likes appear on my facebook page?

    Hi Nicole,

When the visitors likes article that does not mean they liked a facebook page so no feed on the home page..

No you don’t have to start from scratch, every like is saved in Facebook’s Database.

Nope it’s not going to appear on your Facebook Page :)

Wish I’d known about your fatal error before I actually did the auto upgrade.

I’m sure a really big hosting provider will go to PHP 5 just because I tell them to for this one plugin.

    Hi Ahmed,

    Re: http://www.facebook.com/insights/

I’m trying to understand what ‘insights’ can come from the like button and the link in the settings area. When I click on the link to the insights page, all of my facebook pages and apps appear there, *except* the page associated with the site where I have the “like” button.

Is that a FB bug, or is this part of the “Like” functionality? I don’t get it.

    Thanks. -al.

    Hi,

I don’t know if it comes from the way the plugin is wrote, but the “Publish” function with “i Like” doesn’t select the right image of the article. I always got a random image in the page… :/

    Anyway to fix that?

    Hello Ahmed,

    Thanks for the plugin!

It would be very useful to all of us if you add the ability to manually set custom og:image metas on a per post basis. The current choice between random images or a site-wide image is not very useful.

    Best regards,

    Great plugin!

Once I press the like button, The add comment link shows up and i can add a comment. If I hover out of the little “post comment” window, the add comment link disappears. The window stays there on hover until I close it. Is that normal?
Also, the height of the iframe/container is 25px. When that little post comment window appears, its looks cut off at the bottom. However, the Like button you have on this page works perfectly. You only see the comment form once you click on “like”. and the little post comment window shows perfectly. Any ideas on how I can make my FB Like just like yours?

    Thanks!

When I install the plugin, I get this error. How can I solve this?

    Hello -
    Great Plugin!

One request: It works perfect on the post detail/article page (the one where you see the whole blog post if you click the title link from the overview/main blog page.)

But if you check the box for “Show in Home”, for some reason the default image is not used when someone clicks like on an article half way down the page. I checked the source and the og:image tag is there and points to the correct place, but it seems like it’s not passing the right context to Facebook.

Any ideas? (You can try Liking and commenting some of the blog posts on the home page on the blog on my website if you want to see an example. The top post, and maybe a few after it correctly show my business logo on your wall if you like and comment. But if you do it for posts lower on the page, you’ll see an orange XML button on your wall next to your comment.)

Wondering if we need an update? Just read this in the Facebook documentation:

“Use ‘article’ for any URL that represents transient content – such as a news article, blog post, photo, video, etc. Do not use ‘website’ for this purpose. ‘website’ and ‘blog’ are designed to represent an entire site, an og:type tag with types ‘website’ or ‘blog’ should usually only appear on the root of a domain.

This Like button plugin (which I really like!) uses og:type=blog but it uses that on like buttons on every post, including the close-up article pages. It seems like it should be using og:type=article according to the Facebook documentation here:

I’m also using this plugin in my 5 WordPress sites. After the latest update everything broken with those errors. I’m having PHP 5.2. Luckily I have the old version and everything went to normal after downgraded and ignored upgrade warning. :(

Looking forward to have an update ASAP. :)
